Goals

My goal, with GayOttawa.Com, is simply to give the Gay/Les/Bi community in Ottawa a central/common area on the internet from which they can find all the resources they need. My hopes for the site is that it will become a sort of  "nexus", bringing together all the local community groups, businesses and organizations into a single place.

I hope that someday, whenever people want to plan their weekend, or to plan a trip to Ottawa, they will look first to this site and know at a glance what's up in the area.

Over the past two years, I've met with many of the local groups and with many businesses to discuss their needs and to help them build, or strengthen, their presence on the Internet.

For those who wonder if I'm in it for the money... Well, I am very glad to say that this is not the case. Though GayOttawa.Com does offer advertising, and I do charge a fee for the advertising, this money goes to defray the costs of building and hosting the site. (Internet connectivity does not come cheap these days...) I have yet to fully recuperate my operating costs, but someday I hope to break even. In any event, the site will always continue to be there for the users and I always welcome advice, criticism, comments and any help that users want to provide.
